Frequently Asked Questions

What information should I have ready when I call Flying Horse Catering?
Know the answers to all the who, what, when, where, why and how questions such as how many people are expected, what is the occasion, etc.

How far in advance should I call to book a party?
This should be the first thing on your "to do" list when you are planning an event of any sort. If your event s several months in the future, it is not necessary to have all the final details; just the basics, such as estimated time, number of guests etc. but a minimum of a weeks notice is needed in order to staff and prepare your order. All this of course is based on availability.

How much of a deposit is required to book an event?
A minimum $200 non-refundable deposit to hold you date is required at first. Then depending on the type of event and number of people, other deposits may apply.

Should I share my budget with the Event Planner right away?
Yes! By all means. This allows us to offer some creative suggestions you can afford right from the first proposal. Share all your thoughts with the Event Coordinator so that they may help you achieve your expectations.

Can Flying Horse do seated dinners?
Yes, we can. Just ask the Event Coordinator about the additional fees involved.

Do I need a large kitchen to entertain in my home?
Not at all. As an off-site caterer, we can produce an event directly from our kitchen straight into your home. Use of your kitchen is minimal.

Can Flying Horse Catering provide and serve alcohol?
By Colorado State Law, we are not allowed to transport any alcoholic beverages. However, we are able to provide bartender service, mixers, glasses, etc. We do hold the liquor license at The Douglas County Events Center, our base of operation, and therefore can provide a full compliment of alcoholic beverages and services.
